BNI Tampa Bay uses SMS (text messaging) to communicate with members, visitors, and event participants in our BNI region. This page explains how we use SMS, how you opt in, and your rights regarding these messages.

How Users Opt In
BNI Tampa Bay collects SMS opt-in consent through the following channels. We never add anyone to SMS communications without their explicit consent.
1. Chapter Check-In System (checkin.bnitampa.com)
When a visitor or guest checks in at a BNI Tampa Bay chapter meeting, they provide their mobile phone number. The following consent language is displayed on the check-in form at time of submission:

By providing your mobile number and checking in, you consent to receive text messages from BNI Tampa Bay about your visit, follow-up information, and upcoming events. 2. Member Interest & Inquiry Forms
Prospective members who submit interest forms on BNI Tampa Bay properties provide their phone number and consent to SMS follow-up as part of the form submission process. Consent language mirrors the language above.
3. Existing Members (Direct Opt-In)
Active BNI Tampa Bay members who have consented to receive operational SMS notifications from their Chapter or the regional office by completing thier membership application with our contact notices stated with our privacy policies.

How to Opt Out or Get Help
STOP To stop receiving SMS messages from BNI Tampa Bay, reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further messages will be sent.
HELP To get help or more information, reply HELP to any message. You can also contact us directly at [email protected] or call the BNI Tampa Bay office.
Opting out will remove you from all BNI Tampa Bay SMS communications. You may re-opt-in at any time by texting START or by submitting a new opt-in form.
Privacy & Data Use
Your phone number and personal information collected for SMS purposes are used solely to send you relevant BNI Tampa Bay communications. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.
SMS data is processed through Twilio, Inc. (our SMS provider). Messages are sent only to individuals who have opted in through one of the channels described above.
